Population Served:


Those living in Penticton and surrounding area with:
  • A dual diagnosis or concurrent disorder
  • A diagnosed mental illness
  • Chronic physical illness
  • Cognitive and Developmental Disabilities
  • Any person with a disability considering entering the workforce

Services Provided:


  • Individualized service
  • Work in collaboration with the vocational or therapeutic team
  • Hands on training, monitoring and support of clients on the work site
  • Provide documentation and progress report evaluations as per learning outcome
  • Provide task analysis and continuous evaluations as learning tools for the client
  • Coaching is based on learning needs and style of the client
  • Money management and budgeting can be provided
  • Building employability skills
  • Assisting people with coping and illness management on the job
  • Assisting people attain their vocational goals

Service Rates:


  • $30 per hour rate for: Qualified Job Coach
  • $50 per hour rate for: Placement in Transition to Employment/ Place and Train options in Consumer Run Business
  • Travel Rates will be at current government “per kilometer” rates
  • Administration charges are included in per/hr rates

Qualifications:

  • All Job Coaches are peers
  • Successfully completed Job Coach Training Level 1 or Level 2
  • Current First Aid, WHMIS, Food Safe
  • Current Criminal Check
  • Have extensive work experience and employability skills
  • Must be proficient with computers including word processing, email and excel programs
  • Experience working in a supportive role with disabled persons
  • Preferred post-secondary education an asset
  • Licensed drivers
